Hello Hawk families,
I am so excited to begin a new school year with you! I know that the past year and a half have brought many challenges as life has changed across our nation. While some of our routines may be different, the passion of this staff continues to be evident as they desire to help all students grow both academically and socially/emotionally. They are truly an incredible group of educators! I encourage you to support your child’s teacher however possible in the year ahead as they walk with you through each challenge and celebrate the progress made along the way.
I also encourage you to be a part of our social media pages and to check the Lake Wales Charter Schools and the Hillcrest Elementary websites for updated information related to the school. Classroom teachers will also be utilizing DOJO once the year begins to keep you informed. They will provide you with information on how to get signed up to begin to receive messages.
As we begin this year, there is one quote that frames our work. Henry Ford once said that “Coming together is a beginning; Keeping together is progress; Working together is success.” We are looking forward to working TOGETHER this next year and making it a great one. We invite YOU to join us in making this year a memorable one. Below are a few ways you and your family can get plugged in.

PTO - We invite all parents to join the PTO (Parent/Teacher organization) to help celebrate our kids and build up our staff for the incredible work they do. There is a family joining fee of $10. A table will be set up at orientation on Thursday 8/5/2021 with more information.

SAC committee - The School Advisory Committee is a group of stakeholders who are responsible for final decision making at the school relating to the implementation of the provisions of the annual School Improvement Plan (SIP). The SAC assists in the annual preparation and evaluation of both the SIP and the school’s annual budget. Volunteer - We love to have volunteers in our classrooms and throughout campus to assist with various tasks and activities. In order to volunteer you MUST have a completed application on file with the charter system.
